We have all had those days. The day that nothing possible could go right. Or...the day that you find every possible negative force working against you. I had one of those days yesterday, believe it or not. The series of events that happened explained it all, but when looking back at what felt like a 72 hour day, everything seemed a bit comedic or ridiculous. Sounding familiar?
So for a while, I have been trying my hardest to maintain pure happiness throughout each endeavor and experience. I found that life is simply too short to spend moping or being upset. Even though it gets a bit hard when I have days like this, I found there to be a few things I keep in mind when dealing with a bad day...
1. Release the Negative, Focus on the Positive (even if the only thing that was positive was the piece of pizza you had that day)
I'm sure this has been said multiple times on Tumblr and Pinterest. Negative thoughts often corrupt your brain and negativity, no matter how small the amount, effect your mental wellbeing. What I tend to do when experiencing a bad day is to reflect on what actually went good that day. So for example, today I did have a couple really great slices of pizza. Yes, it was one minuscule detail to the entire day, but it was still something I am happy I did today. So my challenge for you is to do just that. Release any negative or bad thoughts and bring on the positive and good thoughts, even if it's at the end of the day.
2. Trust the Timing
This piece of advice might conflict with our differences of beliefs (if we have any). I believe that everything happens for a reason and that the timing is perfect if you are patient. The timing of your life is inevitable in my eyes. Even the little things like taking out the trash or what you eat for breakfast effect your life, and it would be silly to predict everything that would happen each and everyday because the possibilities are endless. What I try to focus on is the idea of perfect timing. I think, "If I am meant to do this or if it's meant for this to happen, it will happen and I trust that." Sometimes all we need is patience and reliance on God to push us through even the hardest situations.
3. Think About What Can You Do NOW, If There Isn't Any... focus on what you can do tomorrow that would be better.
There are certain situations that you can fix yourself. Try to assess the situation with an open mind and see what you could possibly do to make it better. This really ties in to my "happiness is your choice" motto. If there is something you could fix or do to ease the situation or make yourself feel better, do it! If there is nothing you can possibly do, then hope for the better tomorrow and learn your lesson so that you can implement it into the next day. There's always tomorrow! Chin up!
Overall, this is how I feel about bad situations. You know, these things might not work for everyone. I just ask you to try it, maybe it will help. Everyone have an amazing day and try to think positive. Your happiness is your choice loves!
